Leg 3 - Day 1

My pack mule/Sherpa/niece arrived safe & sound yesterday afternoon...with (most importantly) my bag. Which, as it turns out is about a quarter the size of her bag. Not feeling too badly.

Originally, the idea was to get out and show her something of Tokyo, but quickly we altered plans, when we found out that we wouldn’t be departing from the hotel until 12:15pm the following day (today).

So...we decided to head down for an early dinner (sushi...at the sushi bar). The safe kind. And in celebration of my suitcase...um...niece arriving, ordered a bottle of champagne.

Wonderful evening. Back to the room. Watched about half a movie (her lights went out pretty quickly). So bedroom lights out by 9:15pm. I warned her, that the sun would rise before 5am. We could fit in a fair amount.

So...up by 5am. Coffee & tea in the room. Breakfast early. Then out to a nearby shrine (I’m sure I make a fine guide). Then off to the Imperial Gardens!

14,000 steps later, we fetched up back at the hotel. I should mention...before we left the hotel, we had to label & leave our bags in the hallway outside our hotel room.

So now...Leg #3...we were shuttled from the hotel, to the port of Yokohama to board the Cunard ship, Queen Elizabeth (you may remember her, from my World Cruise). This trip will take us to two further ports of Japan, then Alaska & down to Vancouver.

We have had lunch. Unpacked (YIPPEE!). Boat drill. Quick nap for my niece. And then we shove off shortly.

Welcome to Leg #3. Experience has taught me that I will be unable to post photographs. So apologies in advance if this is the case.

Fair winds & followings seas.
