The daily time changes have started, but thankfully, not during the wee hours. The clock changes occur at 9am, so nothing to lose sleep over.
Not much activity. Have to pace ourselves, you know.
It did not take our sommelier long to invite us to a wine pairing lunch (exploring unusual wines) and pairing dinner. He hadn’t come to the end of his sentence before I had already asked for us to be signed up. So...two activities confirmed: Lunch on the 14th & dinner on the 17th.
We went to the port talk about Kodiak (town & island) & Anchorage. We had already booked an excursion for Anchorage (photo tour), but nothing for Kodiak. As it turned out, we needed have worried. The town is very small & close (allegedly) to the port. All the points of interest are close by. I was curious about walking on a trail...until we found out about the kodiak bear...which when he stands on his hind legs is almost as tall as a polar bear. So...town it is!
Last night we were at the Captain’s welcome cocktail party - everyone was invited...but in shifts. We have a female captain. Good for her, I say.
We had an invitation in our room, for a wine tasting...so I know what we’ll be up to, this afternoon!
We managed to find the fitness centre AND actually used it yesterday afternoon. I went there this morning as soon as it opened (6am). And it was VERY busy. But good to get THAT done for the day. Back to the room for a shower. Gina can exercise later. She’ll just have to decide whether it is before or after wine tasting.
Another time change this morning. Good thing we didn’t have anything planned for 9am! My fitbit “watch” is stubbornly remaining unchanged. I am now three hours behind.
